Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrest of a Patterson woman on a charge of unlicensed operation.
On May 20, 2013 at 11:29 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Daniel Hunsberger stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 312 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Megan L. Galarza, 22, of 89 Newburgh Road, Patterson held a suspended license. The deputy arrested Ms. Galarza and charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was released in her own recognizance pending a June 13, 2013 appearance in the Town of Southeast Justice Court to answer the charge.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
