1 in 3 women are physically assaulted by a partner in adulthood. 30% of all female homicide victims are killed by their partner. 50% of all abusers also abuse their children. Astounding! It is time to Break the Silence and Stop the Violence!

About Organizers - The women leading this vigil are survivors of domestic violence. SOme lived in shelters or safe house during their journey to safe and empowered lives. They are grateful to organization that helped them personally or spread awareness for DV such as The Women's Resource Center of Mahopac, Putnam County People Against Domestic Violence, the NY State Coalition for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. |
