The road to the manger is long and rocky in The Brewster Theater Company's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on

Twas the month before Christmas and the whole town was anticipating the Christmas Pageant! Then there was a catastrophe. Mrs. Armstrong, the force of nature who always ran the pageant, was in the hospital. She would be there in traction until the New Year. The holiday season looked bleak. “Why, they'll have to cancel Christmas.” What could the town do? After much discussion, mild mannered housewife, Grace Bradley, was imposed on to produce the pageant. Fortunately Bradley shows she has nerves of steel to deal with the well meaning busybodies of the town and her recalcitrant husband. Unfortunately, her son, Charlie, manages to interest the town family of ne'er-do-wells in participating in the pageant. When they introduce mayhem amongst angels, baby angels and shepherds, Bradley relies on her steel nerves and, with the help of the Christmas Spirit, triumphs over the forces of evil and her husband's lethargy.

Directed by Elizabeth Joyce and Vicky Barbalato and produced by Nancy D'Angelo, the holiday production features actors from Brewster and the surrounding area.

Tickets for the show are $8 for adults and $5 for students &seniors. Children under 2 are free. There will be a holiday party following the evening show.
