I, the undersigned support the Widening of Route 22 in Putnam and Dutchess Counties in New York for the following reasons,

  1. Dangerous
  2. Traffic impaired
  3. Pollutes NYC reservoirs with each rain event
  4. Contributes to Putnam's "F" rating for air quality
    as determined by the American Lung Association
  5. Encourages commuters to take our "country roads" in
    order to bypass traffic, putting resident's lives in peril
  6. Creates great uncertainty with school bus schedules
    and school pickups due to traffic.

I feel this roadway can not support the amount of traffic in its current condition and should be widened to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles that use it every day.
