Wondering what to do with all those nice books you stored away in the basement or the attic or stashed under the guest room bed? Need to weed through your assortment of DVDs to make room for the latest Oscar winners? Want to clean out the car of all those audio books and children’s CDs that you just can’t bear to listen to one more time? Well, that’s what Friends are for. While the Friends of Kent Library won’t offer to come to your home or clean out your car, they will happily accept all books, DVDs, audio tapes and CDs that are in good condition as they prepare for their Giant Spring Book Sale to be held on Sat., May 24 and Sun., May 25. High school students in need of fulfilling Community Service time can rack those hours up by joining in the fun as volunteers over the Book Sale weekend. Free snacks provided. Adult volunteers are needed to help set up the Book Sale on Fri., May 23 and to remove the books from Town Hall after the sale ends. Food and water provided. Drop donated items off at the Kent Public Library which is located in the Kent Town Complex on Route 52 in Kent Lakes. Please DO NOT drop off textbooks, VHS tapes, encyclopedias or magazines. Think Green and bring those to the Kent Recycling Center. For further info about the Book Sale or if you want to sign up as a volunteer call: (845) 225-8585 or visit: www.kentlibrary.org.
